In August 2017, Carl’s painting ‘Pilgrims’ won the Lichfield Cathedral ‘Capture the Cathedral’ competition and was exhibited within the cathedral alongside works by JMW Turner. In addition, as part of the award, Carl and the renowned sculptor Peter Walker – the Cathedral’s artist-in-residence and co-organiser of the competition, delivered ‘Pilgrims’ to Tim at Kingswood Frames, Shrewsbury, where the piece was expertly framed. Pilgrims is now in the hands of a local collector.
